About Me

My name is Lydia, and I am the girl behind the camera at Lily June Photography. I am a portrait and lifestyle photographer in the Houston area, located in Oak Forest, just outside of the Heights.

I'm originally from Houston, but grew up in a small town called Tallmadge, Ohio.  I attended Marietta College for three years before I transferred to the University of Houston, where I finished my degree in Exercise Science. 

I've always been one of those people that just takes way too many pictures-but I really got serious about it when my kids were babies.  I wanted to capture everything about them and just bottle it up forever.  It was a hobby that I just couldn't get enough of, and eventually grew into the business it is today.  I prefer a more candid style of photography-I like to be silly during my sessions and really get to know my clients.  I will probably encourage tickle fights and whispering silly things in each others ear to get those genuine smiles and interactions that we don't want to forget.  In fact, most of my favorite photos are when no one is looking at the camera.  

Aside from photography, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My husband and I have 2 daughters, Eva and Aria, who are the light of our lives.  We also have a handful of fur babies that we would do anything for.  I am all about doing anything outdoors, especially running.  I love natural light, I'm a sucker for a good sunset, and I love the joy and beauty I get to see each day through my lens.
